FG Wilson is a global company with over 3,000 employees and more than 40 years of experience in the supply of diesel and gas powered generator sets. At company headquarters in Northern Ireland, they set the global design standards for every generator set produced at each of their global facilities.

FG Wilson have global production facilities in Piracicaba (Brazil), Tianjin (China), Pondicherry (India) and Newberry, (South Carolina, USA). Furthermore FG Wilson has three additional plants in Northern Ireland. Their manufacturing operations cover a combined area of over 185,000m2 - from which they produce more than 80,000 generator sets each year. They have some of the world's most advanced generator set production facilities including Europe's largest fully automated hemi-anechoic chamber - providing state of the art acoustic research and test capabilities. FG Wilson are majority owned by CAT Machinery. This is the first of the seven production lines to be treated with Acrylicon Industrial Flooring in this facility – it is very likely that further lines will be completed next year.

Overall the existing slab was in quite poor condition. It was a concrete power floated finish installed in the 1940’s. The slab was heavily cracked and rutted from years of use. All pit marks were filled and all cracks were treated with glass fibre resin before the application of a light grey 4mm Décor floor. Acrylicon was chosen from many other options, including polyurethane and MMA because of its long track record and ability to cope in this heavy industrial environment. The colour chosen by FG Wilson was in line with CAT corporate standards. The install took approximately 3 weeks to complete with the later half of the work all being done at night so the plant production was not affected too much. Both client and main contractor were very happy with the work and the final product.
