AcryliCon Hamilton has installed a slip resistant flake system into 7 tub rooms used for bathing the residents at Sunset Manor Retirement Home in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada.
The rooms were all located in various distant locations within the site, some within secured wings making the task of installing much more challenging. The existing floor was vinyl sheet and peeling throughout. The vinyl was removed along with several hundred square feet of concrete leveller. The tub rooms are obviously wet environments that became slippery when covered with water and many different soap products. AcryliCon’s slip resistant flake system provided the solution with a non-porous surface which included a 4 inch cove base around the entire perimeter of all 7 rooms. Each room averaged approximately 350-400 square feet with 120-150 linear feet of cove base.
