Gilde, Gol Abattoir and Meat Production
Cleanablility and Skid Resistance is key factors to be considered in an Abattoir.
«In a Abattoir and production facilities like ours, cleanability and skid resistance is very important.
Blood and by products from the slaughtering on the floor represent a huge risk and in this environment AcryliCon has the properties we need. The floor is not slippery – and has an impressive wear resistance. We had 807 sq. metres of Decor SW installed in 1988 and followed up with 1177 sq.metres in 1998. The floors are exposed to truck driving, jack trolleys and other wheel operated equipment with loads up to 1200 kilo. They also have to withstand impact, for instance when a meat hook falls from above.
AcryliCon is very easy to clean. In our company - with slaughtering, cutting and «pinnekjøttproduksjon» (Made of lamb, salted and dried, - one of Norway’s special Christmas dinner meals) it is wise to choose a grey colour. This ensures that any discoloration caused by strong washing liquids and hot water is not so obvious.
We also notice that AcryliCon gives very good protection to the concrete construction under the topping.
The alternative of having an epoxy floor installed was not an option for us.
Epoxy never stops curing; it turns brittle and finally delaminates from the sub-floor. Epoxy based floors are also more susceptible to damage caused by heavy impact and mechanical loads.»
