Hennig Olsen Is - Ice Cream Manufacturer

Choosing Acrylicon was based on a very long list of references and also a visit to the Central County Hospital in Kristiansand to the main kitchen there.

“ We had 2460 square metres of Acrylicon installed from 1995 to 1998. The floor is very consistence in regards to wear resistance. It is exposed to heavy loads in respect of transportation, jack trolleys up to one tonne and lots of truck driving, but again there is no problem.
The floor has however got some cracks. Partly this is caused by the lack of proper preparation of the sub-floor, with damp in the floor (the concrete was laid right on top of the rocks on the ground without basement), - and heavy hot water loads up to 90oC. (Acrylicon have no guarantee with temperatures over 70oC, which we were informed about).
The cracks occurred mainly around the gullies. The repairs are done nicely, as they cut out the part that is bad and have redone it. It bonds perfectly to the existing floor, though you have to accept some difference in the colour, which of course are not so nice.
In the department where the ice cream with crushed caramel and almond mixture is made, there is no exposure to water. The floor is in very good shape and will probably last for over 15 years. We do however have a problem with the anti skid wearing off.
The Acrylicon floor is easy to clean. Choosing Acrylicon was based on a very long list of references and also a visit to the Central County Hospital in Kristiansand to the main kitchen there.
We are very satisfied with Acrylicon as a company. The people are very skilled and provide all the back up and service needed.
Have we experienced other floors? We do have tiles on parts of the floor (laid in 1960). The tiles themselves are no problem, but the joints disappear where exposed to water, something that does provide a hygiene problem. In parts the tiles have left the sub-floor and are just attached in the joints. Earlier we did also have floors just covered with epoxy paint, these floors had to be maintained and repaired every year.”
