Melbu Fiskeindustri

We had read about and heard that Acrylicon was the best floor available, and that rumour has proved true

“ We tried epoxy for our floors on an area of 150 sq.metres. This turned out to be a huge fiasco, which ended up in court.
The floor was very badly installed and peeled off. The supplier wanted to blame the incident on too much damp in the sub-floor, but the case was judged in favour of Melbu Fiskeindustri and we received full compensation.
On the other hand we are very satisfied with our Acrylicon floors. We had read about and heard that this was the best floor available, and that rumour has proved true, even if I cannot hide that there have been some repairs needed in the fish receiving area. These defective areas are not because of the Acrylicon floor, but have been caused by bad quality in the sub-floor.
The floors have heavy truck operating traffic and great impact and wear, so we feel that the reinforcing of the floor is a good solution in these special areas.
In the department of fish production, we had 600 sq.metres of Acrylicon in 1985, since then we have had additional areas installed to a total of 2 300 sq.metres of Acrylicon in our company.
The floor from 1985 is as nice as it was back in 1985. The floor is highly wear resistant and the cleaning is very easily done.”
