RNLI Boat House St Bees

07.09.07

Acrylicon has installed a new floor for the RNLI at their boathouse in St Bees, Sillith, Cumbria.

Carried out over 2 days, with the state of the art life boat being stored in the boat house over night. Even after the final application, the floor was fully cured and the boat brought back in after just 2 hours minimising any disruption and keeping the station fully functional.

Acrylicon is well suited to this harsh environment, resisting salt water and giving a high degree of slip resistance whilst maintaining a decorative and easy to clean surface.

The RNLI were very pleased with both the installation and performance of the Acrylicon System, and have asked us to carry out another floor installation at the Criccieth Boathouse in Wales.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is a charity that saves lives at sea around the coasts of Great Britain and Ireland. There are over 230 lifeboat stations strategically placed around the coast of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland together with RNLI Lifeguard units in the South, South West and East coast of the UK. Lifeboat rescues have doubled since 1980 and the RNLI rescues an average of 22 people every day of the year. Since the RNLI was founded, its lifeboats have saved over 137,000 lives.
